Strategic Workshop in Dakar: Aligning Partners for Public Sector Digital Transformation
Some days ago in Dakar, I had the privilege of stepping fully into my strategic digital transformation advisory role — moderating a high-level workshop bringing together government entities of Senegal and their key funding partners.
The goal? Strengthen overall collaboration efficiency in delivering the New Deal Technologies agenda.
Each funder brings unique strengths: some can support key frameworks or fill short-term gaps, others drive day-to-day change management, and others fund large-scale digital infrastructures. All have a critical role to play — but only when aligned around a clear, shared vision.
And vision alone isn’t enough. One of the deeper challenges remains institutional alignment between government entities. This workshop also served as an open forum — a space to unlock misunderstandings, surface opportunities, and build the trust that no budget line can buy.
Bringing everyone into the same room, sharing perspectives, addressing concerns, and exchanging best practices is one of the most powerful accelerators of digital transformation.
A big thank you to GIZ for entrusting me with this mission, in continuity of our ongoing collaboration — and to The World Bank, JICA, the European Union, the Gates Foundation, and all contributing partners for their constructive engagement throughout the workshop.
